David - Pastel on paper

In August 2011 I posted on this blog about drawing David at art school.
Here he is still modelling, this time for our portrait group at DAS Studio 57 Concord.

Portraiture my latest artistic practice, is for me, an exploration in the various mediums you can use to create " The Look ". 

Heather - Pastels

Practising the art of portraiture I'm finding is an enjoyable challenge, requiring the learned visual skill of knowing what to leave in and what to leave out. 

I was captivated by the floppy hat Heather chose to wear while posing for our group.

These gorgeous kittens were a delight to paint for their crazy cat loving owners. Capturing their cute little faces, that amazing pose, and the opportunity to brush letter their names was inspirational. $580 Sold

R.I.P. Jenna - 2/12/2004 - 4/1/2017    Top image acrylics on card 12x12cms.

Within 12 months I have lost my darling husband Paul, and our 2 rescue pet Westies, Harry and Jenna. This sweet little dog had 7 years of cruel mass breeding on a puppy farm and her last 4 years in doggy heaven on earth with us. My heart is well and truely broken.
